Nuketown 2025 map pulled from Black Ops II

Call of Duty: Black Ops II's special edition "Nuketown 2025" map has been removed from the game.

The exclusive map will only be available during special occasions, such as the double XP weekend which just came to an end.

"Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don't kill the messenger," Tweeted game design director David Vonderhaar.

"Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games," he added.

It's a blow to dedicated fans, as the remake of Black Ops' Nuketown was a pre-order bonus and also included with the Hardened and Care Package editions. Considering that, we had assumed it would be available all the time, not as a special events map.

I just don't get Nuketown. It's popularity (or infamy) seems to have forced it into Declassified...although it's been halved down the middle meaning you respawn in an enemies fire sight.

I used to quit lobbies that voted for it in BLOPS. I actually have no interest in downloading it.

Because it didn't have to be sold as a preorder bonus, it was just included in the first shipment of them for retailers to do as they wish.

You can still play it under custom games and I think it may make its way into the normal playlists.

It isn't a pre order bonus, all initial/first wave stock of the game will contain the map.

double xp was over all playlists, not just nuketown 24/7..
it's bs they tried to do away with it and act like nothing happened.. they bought it back in a crappy moshpit.. i dunno, pretty consumer unfriendly
