Fresh details for PAX Australia 2014 have come out of Game Connect Asia Pacific '13 (GCAP '13) in Melbourne
Giselle Rosman Tweeted the news direct from the opening address of the conference, revealing the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center as the location of the event, to be held October 31 to November 2, 2014.
The great news is that the event will take place at the conveniently located exhibition center on Clarendon Street, opposite Crown Casino and right on the fringe of the city (literally across the Yarra).
While last year's PAX Aus was a fantastic success, The Showgrounds weren't ideal for the event, as parking, transport and weather made it inconvenient for tourists and locals alike.
The PAX Aus team still pulled off a fantastic event nonetheless, and with a better location now on the cards, PAX Aus '14 will undoubtedly improve on the festival's inaugural year.
“This year’s event in Melbourne represented the first time that PAX had been held outside of the United States – not only was it a great coup for Melbourne but the event was a runaway success,” said Minister for Innovation, Services and Small Business, Louise Asher.
Robert Khoo, President of Penny Arcade, said Melbourne has been an incredible home for PAX, and the Victorian Government has been as accommodating as the fans.
“Not only have they helped us secure a much-needed larger venue for the show, but they’ve paved the way for talented local creators to be showcased on the global stage. The games community here is incredible, and PAX Australia is here to stay,” Mr Khoo said.
