PAX coming to Australia in 2013

Speaking at a PAX Prime Q&A session in Seattle today, creators Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins announced that the Penny Arcade Expo is heading to Australia in 2013.

Little is known about the Australian leg, but it's the first international expansion for the expo.

PAX began in 2004 in Seattle, and become PAX Prime in 2010 when PAX East began in Boston. It's one of the world's biggest gaming conventions, with over 70,000 attendees expected at PAX Prime this week, which will be extended from three to four days next year.

I bet NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell & his Victorian counterpart Ted Bailieu (and excluding my State's Premier, Campbell Newman) will probably try and outbid each other to say that PAX Australia deserves to be in either Homebush or Melbourne

I really, really doubt that. I'm not sure PAX is something within either States' immediate interests.

I think its safe to say this will be held in Sydney or Melbourne (if it is Melbourne lets hope they say "Melbourne" correctly). As a Sydneysider I of course would prefer it to be here, but even if it is in Melboune I will travel there to see it.
