Gamers in Europe and Australia have lapped up the PlayStation 3, with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today confirming 30 million units have been sold as of December 17, 2012 in PAL territories.
“This is a major milestone for us and clearly shows just how popular the PlayStation brand and products are within Europe and the PAL territories,” said SCEE CEO Jim Ryan
The news comes on the back of reports game publisher THQ has filed for bankruptcy.
"The sale and filing are necessary next steps to complete THQ’s transformation and position the company for the future, as we remain confident in our existing pipeline of games, the strength of our studios and THQ’s deep bench of talent," said CEO Brian Farrell.
