The rumour mill is in overdrive this morning, with less than 24 hours before Sony announces the future of PlayStation.
A "reliable source" told Kotaku that Orbis -- the new PlayStation's codename -- will be released in the US in November this year with two models, priced at at $US429 ($415) and $US529 ($511).
That doesn't mean much for Aussies. The PS3 was released in the US in November 2006, but didn't make it to Australia until March 2007.
The source also claims that Sony is following Microsoft's Xbox Live paid subscription. PlayStation World will be a premium online subscription to replace PlayStation Plus and be required for most games -- it's unknown if this is related to the PlayStation Cloud rumours.
Other tidbits trickling through suggest every console will come with a PlayStation Eye and that you might even be able to watch your friends playing games -- freaky!
Smartphones and tablets have also been thrown in as a means to control the console when you're out wasting time on life's other demands.
