PS4 will be released worldwide this year - Rumour

Rumour has it that the PlayStation 4 won't be delayed in Australia and Europe: it will be released in all major regions in 2013.

A Sony insider told CVG that the PlayStation 4 won't suffer a significant delay in Europe and other PAL regions, as was the case with the PS3.

Sony learnt its lesson after giving the Xbox 360 a headstart. While both consoles have sold around 80 million units now, the PS3 only caught up because of its Japanese dominance and is clear second in the US and UK.

Sony doesn't want that to happen again in two of its biggest markets.

However, Edge recently claimed to have knowledge of a 2014 release of the PS4 in Europe.

If Sony is rushing for a worldwide release to match Microsoft's expected global plans, to be revealed on May 22, stock shortages could become an issue.

Hopefully it gets released in Australia for Christmas! Waiting till 2014 would be pretty disappointing.
I wonder if they'll still go with Japan exclusivity like they did with the PSP and Vita, if even for a month or two.
Don't think too many people will be rushing out and buying the PS4 on release date. Specially if the price is similar to when the PS3 came out. I for one will wait till my PS3 dies or a few years later (when the price has come down) and some good games have comes out.
I wonder if it will be backwards compatible and if it will play second hand games?!?
fingers crossed

its already confirmed as not backwards compatible. you can download ps3 games tho but im assuming you have to pay again.

also there still arent any pictures of the actual console so hopefully E3 reveals all and then they can start there (usually hopeless) advertising campaign ready for the 4th quarter
Just saw this video on youtube and find it funny.
Fanbois will always crap me up *_*

It would be a first for sony, if rumour became true

But they need to rip-off Aust :P

Day 1 purchase for me :D
Hopefully, the rumour is true as I'll be buying this day one. Just hope Sony doesn't shoot themselves in the foot again, when it comes to the pricing of the console.
2013 end of year launch would be great.

Lets just hope there's a decent launch line up as well.
I still doubt we will get it this year
A worldwide release would surge sales.
