Rumour has it that the PlayStation 4 won't be delayed in Australia and Europe: it will be released in all major regions in 2013.
A Sony insider told CVG that the PlayStation 4 won't suffer a significant delay in Europe and other PAL regions, as was the case with the PS3.
Sony learnt its lesson after giving the Xbox 360 a headstart. While both consoles have sold around 80 million units now, the PS3 only caught up because of its Japanese dominance and is clear second in the US and UK.
Sony doesn't want that to happen again in two of its biggest markets.
However, Edge recently claimed to have knowledge of a 2014 release of the PS4 in Europe.
If Sony is rushing for a worldwide release to match Microsoft's expected global plans, to be revealed on May 22, stock shortages could become an issue.
