With a few of the year's big releases behind us already, this week we spent a lot of time looking forward.
We got some hands-on time with Bioshock Infinite, and can confidently report that it's set to be a nice swansong for this generation.
Meanwhile, God of War: Ascension feels a little too familiar, and while Gears of War: Judgement tries to change up the formula, it may still suffer from franchise fatigue.
The console port of the previously 3DS-exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations is looking pretty, and we saw a new trailer for Beyond: Two Souls, which revealed that Willem Dafoe will join the cast, alongside Ellen Page.
The worst-kept secret of 2013 so far was Ubisoft's clumsy reveal of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, due later this year. Pirates seem an odd choice for the series, but we cautiously accepted it, and detailed what we'd like to see to make this change of direction work.
Despite what some may say, the Wii U is not dead yet, and a hands-on session with Lego City Undercover confirmed that for us.
We discuss it further in our Friendly Fire podcast this week, along with Luigi's Mansion 2 and the Tomb Raider reboot.
