Sleeping Dogs free on Australian PlayStation Plus

Sony has confirmed that Sleeping Dogs will be free to download for PlayStation Plus subscribers in the coming update.

Sleeping Dogs will be free to download from the PS+ Instant Collection for one month from February 7. Once downloaded or added to your account, it's free to keep as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription remains active.

Also free next month is puzzle-platformer Quantum Conundrum and the poorly received F1 Race Stars -- they might not even be able to give that one away.

Later in the month, PS Vita owners will be able to download WipeOut 2048 (14th) and Lumines Electric Symphony, free of addition charge.

Discounted three-month subscription

If you're weighing up the purchase, a three-month subscription will be 30 percent off between February 7 - 21, costing just $13.45 for a 90 day membership.

I've already done all there is to do in the 360 version, but this is a damn fine reason to revisit the game.

Ohh hell yea
PS Plus is just a rental service. I wonder what will happen in the future when the PS3 is discontinued and PS4 becomes the main console? as you have to be online every so often to update the licenses will your entire collection disappear?
As I've stated before i'd much rather 'own' my games.

I wondered this too.. I had plus briefly and had a couple of games free I can't even remember what now.. Was disappointed when someone said that once you don't have it you can't play them anymore.. I'm guessing until you renew it? :O

You'd still own them until the date that your subscription runs out.

Plus is just about the best thing to ever happen to the ps3 IMO. For the low cost of around $50 a year, I have 100s of games. Just look at this months releases, you would struggle to physically buy all of the games for $50 total. I've had it since it was first released. I also love the auto updates and 2gb of cloud strange.

I would be willing to be that the ps4 will support everything you've downloaded from plus. Don't see Sony wanting to piss off their huge plus subscriber base.
A fairly new release title that's actually good for free, that does seem like a good deal. I was looking at all the PS+ offers the last time I was online and there's a a good number of games I would go for that were either heavily discounted or for free.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Sleeping Dogs for Free?
I've already finished it but i've been meaning to do the side missions and whatnot.
Does your save data from the actual disc copy work on the copy on the PS Store?

But wouldn't Sony have to use emulation? i'm sure emulating the Cell would be a mammoth task, one I can't see happening. So as I say when PSN is no more for PS3 I reckon the full games and possibly the PSN titles will no longer work unless they just make the titles no longer require online activation but that would cost.
Maybe good now but mark my words Sony will piss people off.

It's saved data that's stored in your HDD so yes.
I think PS+ is worth it if you're using it heaps.

If you get all the games each month (so you'd want 500-1TB HDD) and actually play them, then it's worth while.

Yes, you'll probably lose then all next gen (maybe not), but if you've been using it well, I suspect you'll have already played them and have no need to go back.

I have it, but don't really use it enough.
If I say something positive about PS+ I probably get a negative response.
