White Knight Chronicles 1 & 2 servers shutting down

Servers and online functionality for JRPG and PS3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles will be shut down on June 18.

The news comes from both Sony and on the official Facebook page for WKC 2, who announced both the original and the sequel's servers will be shut down. No specific reasons were given about the server's termination.

WKC 1 & 2 allows players to go online and engage in co-op missions and town-building, and with the servers gone it's probably the best time to have play those last few hours online or grab the online-specific trophies before the server's shutdown makes it impossible.

The servers were shared by North American and European players, so while both announcements only specify North America, they likely affect Europe as well. Neither announcement elaborated on the reasons for the servers being terminated.

Do you still play WKC online?
