The first Fifa 13 screens emerge

The first screens for Fifa 13 have made their way onto the internet overnight.

They come curtsey of DOS, who report that Fifa 13 will have five major improvements: First Touch Control, Player Impact, Complete Dribble, Tactical Free-Kicks and Attacking AI.

At least they're going to start putting more effort in getting the face of players right since it does help with the immersion.

I like what they did with fifa 12 and released a downloadable expansion with euro 2012 (though i have no idea what the price is)
though im skipping ahead of myself, I wonder if they'll do the same with fifa 14 or is the world cup just to big an event. either way, judging by what improvements you've listed in this article, I doubt i'll bother with this update as I'm perfectly fine playing along with fifa 11. In saying that I know my brother will update.

These look the same every year. No very flattering, gets them some early exposure and keeps us happy, I guess.

Building on the much-improved FIFA 12 it can only get better.

@punk How is that a good thing? Back in MY day you get all the teams in one package. These days it's all DLC here and DLC that. I couldn't believe it when my friend told me the teams weren't there, and yet eventually I had to accept the fact that instead of adding teams, they're removing them and expecting people to pay for them. [Facepalm]

I'm not a big fan of DLC so I get where you're coming from. My reason is that depending on the price, It's better than buying a whole new disc as it actually extends your current copy and its not something EA Sports does very much as there are bugs in the game that will only be fixed in the next iteration..
By all means, I wish they combined it from the very start but it wasn't like they released that content (EURO 12) the day after which is far to common these days.

I dont remember the world cup or the euro ever being included in a normal fifa game and I'm talking way back to the revolutionary fifa 98 that led to RTWC 98 etc.

Wasn't it always the way for fifa to add new things and still take away others (I mean they took away the indoor field from 98 :P) but now they've got incentive to make us pay for those things they've taken away [Shifty].

I'm not up to scratch with the teams they make you buy but the list has definitely grown from the last decade. did this list actually get smaller in the last two years?
