In theory, Blood Drive sounds like a great game. Driving around large maps in hotted-up cars, the goal is to destroy as many opposing cars and zombies as possible. Think Twisted Metal meets Carmageddon meets Left 4 Dead. The gameplay is simple enough and the game plays and looks fine, but it’s a lack of depth that ultimately brings it down.
The most disappointing thing about Blood Drive is that it could have been so much more. While at first glance it looks and sounds like a lot of fun, it’s too generic to be relevant, and is hampered by a lack of variety and depth. Doing the same thing over and over again just isn’t that much fun. Killing zombies is enjoyable for a little bit, but the way in which you do it is just repeated over and over again. Bore-ring!
Verdict: 4/10
